I think i am the only person in the nation that thinks Watchmen looks like a bad movie. i don’t get it.
The movie most likely won’t be anything special, but if you have read the graphic novel, you will know why so many people are excited for this movie. Its just nice to see some of our favorite characters come to life on the big screen. Think of it like the Harry Potter Books/movies. Great books, really bad movies.
There was no castle. There was no crown. The damsel was not in distress, the stars were not aligned, the knight’s armor was a curious rust color. There was, however, a hill with a view, his old horse Jangles, and a place to sit in the shade. He was pleased.
I’m a sucker for anything with kings, crowns, and castles or lack there of.
I am trying to remember a time when I didn’t have some kind of portable music player. I went from walkmen, onto portable CD players, to a cheap Mp3 players to the iPod. I have been with iPod ever since, casually upgrading as I saw fit. Now there is something else out there: The Zune. I have messed around with the Zune marketplace as well as the player itself and I have to say I am impressed. The interface is cool and colorful with the ability to customize a lot of what you see. It also has Wi-fi built in and (not like I would use it) pier to pier song transfer. The idea of a music community is pretty neat to, outside of sites like Last FM.
I can get a deal on a 120 GB Zune and Dock for 180, free shipping. I am vastly tempted to do so and sell my 80GB iPod classic. I just need to think and think fast…
Mr. Blue Sky by Lily Allen originally by Electric Light Orchestra (via snooz3r)
This one doesn’t do it for me. Usually there is that “thing” that makes you want to listen to this version over the original for a change, but she just added some bass instead of a superior piano and took out the pants during “running down the avenue”.
Tim’s blender turned onto it’s highest speed at 4:40a this morning. I am now sufficiently freaked out - first because I checked the entire apartment (under beds, in closets, etc… I need to buy a baseball bat) and second because Google is telling me I’m lucky the place didn’t burn down due to an untimely power surge. I’m going back to bed.
Spooky and on a related note, I was at the gym the other day picking stuff up, putting stuff down and while sitting at one of the machines I looked out the window and saw in another window at the building across the way a little boy in what look liked old school clothes staring out the window. I looked away for a moment and when I looked back he was gone. Now, it could have been just some little boy, but the building is very old and has been being renovated for some time. I am not sure what to make of it.
This song reminds me of changing seasons. Somber in the winter, picking up into the spring, hits hard in summer and falls back into winter. Of course you have to listen to all 5:28. Its worth it. Pete can attest to this.
I feel really good. I got a premo parking spot right in front of my apartment which is unheard of at this hour, plus I got a hello from a nice group of ladies while walking to pick up a sandwhich, which I now get to eat while watching Sopranos, then I’ll hit the hay. Did I mention I witness a car crash while out for the 4 minutes getting the sandwhich? Just tops for the night. No one was hurt though.
